January

MYOB Demand Generation leads move to ANUM qualified leads for our partner sellers in 2023

2022 saw an overall Lead Acceptance rate of 40%, so 60% of leads were abandoned and didn't progress to sales pipelines. The win rate for leads was 8%.

In 2023 leads being sent to the channel will be fully ANUM qualified; meaning a lead will meet the criteria of Authority, Need, Urgency and Money. Lead volumes will reduce, but the quality of the leads will be significantly improved, allowing sales teams to spend more time on the best opportunities.

The objective is to:

  1. save partners time with lead qualification,
  2. achieve an >80% lead acceptance rate and
  3. achieve a win rate of >15%

Lead allocation will continue to be based on a partner's success with MYOB generated leads. Partners with higher win rates will receive a higher proportion of MYOB generated leads. This is assessed by the channel team each month.

If you cannot make contact with a new lead from MYOB within 48 hours, please ask the DG rep and cc: dgleadersindustries@myob.com asking that the DG rep tries to establish contact on your behalf. Also, during the sales process please keep your notes current in Phoenix with a date and comments in the Closure Summary field.

Price Increases for Exo and Greentree from 1 February 2023

Last October we announced details about increasing our prices for MYOB Exo and MYOB Greentree. If your customers need additional licenses in 2023, now is a good time for the customer to buy them before the prices increase:

  • Licenses and annual maintenance will increase by 6% for MYOB Greentree
  • Licenses and annual maintenance will increase by 6% for MYOB Exo Business
  • Licenses and annual maintenance will increase by 10% for MYOB Exo Employer Services

Partner Leaderboards

Our 2022 Partner Seller Leaderboards for new Advanced sites and new Advanced ARR are now available through your Channel Sales Manager, so you as a BDM/Seller can find out where you ranked in new Advanced sites and new Advanced sales overall in 2022. A high-level view showing the partner but not the seller can be seen each month in the Channel Webinar.

Our Demand Generation (DG) Team works tirelessly to provide new Advanced opportunities for you to prosecute and the DG team will always do their very best to generate an opportunity for you based on Authority and Needs being confirmed by the opportunity. It is then our role in the channel to build Urgency and form a budget (Money) for the opportunity to see the benefits and invest in MYOB Advanced as quickly as possible.

So this is also a reminder that for any MYOB generated opportunities that you receive to please only use these reasons below to Abandon an opportunity. Otherwise, the opportunity should be Accepted and progressed with through Engaging with Decision Makers, Confirming the Solution, and Closing the Opportunity WON.

Abandoned

To be used if didn’t get past introduction call.

Change Management Unable to proceed with introduction due to change in company focus or direction.
Unable to Contact Partner has called 3 times and emailed and then on day 5 sent back to DGT to try again before abandoning. DGT have tried unsuccessfully to contact too. So no discover/intro possible.

Important Notice Regarding MYOB Generated Sales Opportunities

Currently over 50% of the new sales opportunities generated by the MYOB Demand Generation Team (DGT) are Abandoned, with ‘No Contact’ dominating the reason for abandonment. As we have said in the past, our MYOB lead generation is expensive so it is important that you prosecute the MYOB generated opportunities immediately they are received and keep the notes in Phoenix updated. As a team we want to turn the dial on Accepting leads immediately so that you are connecting with the opportunity and accepting the opportunity within the 10 day timeframe from receiving the opportunity. Then you can get into the sales cycle quicker with the opportunity and win the customer sooner.

Our Ask:

Within 5 days of receiving the new opportunity by email and not being successful with contacting the opportunity to setup an initial introduction meeting, please ask the DGT team member to immediately help with contacting the opportunity and Cc: your CSM, so the DGT team member can attempt to recontact you with the opportunity and setup a suitable time to speak. During this time, please ensure the notes in Phoenix are kept current and up-to-date.

Wherever possible DGT will continue to provide availability timeframes ~3 days ahead in the lead sheet opportunity for you to contact for your initial introductory call where you confirm you are speaking to authority/decision maker(s), there are needs to change, and the business has $5m turnover or growth rates and ambitions to support investing in MYOB Advanced today. This is the A, N, and U in ANUM from the MYOB Sales Playbook. The role for you is to then build the Urgency with the opportunity to ultimately sell the new opportunity MYOB Advanced.

Once your initial meeting has taken place the opportunity should be immediately Accepted in Phoenix and progressed through the Sales Stages in the MYOB Sales Playbook to Engage Decision Maker(s) for the discovery meeting, Confirm Solution with the stakeholders, Close Opportunity where the customer provides verbal confirmation they are buying from you and will be signing your sales agreements.

Note: You may have noticed since the beginning of March that the opportunity lead sheets are attached to each MYOB opportunity in Phoenix as a file so you can easily reference the lead sheet here too along with in your email messages.
