2024 MYOB Partner Awards

MYOB and the 2024 MYOB Partner Awards

The MYOB Partner Awards are run by the MYOB Group (“MYOB”, “we”, “our” or “us”), comprising:

  1. MYOB Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 13 086 760 198) of Level 3, 168 Cremorne Street, Cremorne, Victoria 3121, Australia; and
  2. MYOB NZ Limited (Company number 902338) of c/- Level 7, 28 Brandon Street, Wellington 6011, New Zealand.

The 2024 MYOB Partner Awards recognise and celebrate the success and achievements of members of the MYOB Partner Program (“MYOB Partners”) and our valued industry stakeholders across Australia and New Zealand. The 2024 MYOB Partner Awards includes 10 categories (each a “Category”) – details regarding which Categories are opened for nominations (an “Open Category”) and closed for nominations (a “Closed Category”) is found in Appendix A – Award Criteria (“Award Criteria”) to these Terms and Conditions.   

Nomination Period

11:00am (AEST) on 1/8/2024 to 11.59pm (AEST) on 15/9/2024 

(i.e. 9:00am (NZST) on 1/8/2024 to 1.59am (NZST) on 16/9/2024)

Who can submit a nomination?


Entry Requirements

Open Categories
You may submit a nomination personally or on behalf of a colleague, your employer or another business for an Open Category.

However, you must be:

  1. be a resident of Australia or New Zealand and 18 years old or over; or
  2. a business registered in Australia or New Zealand with a valid ABN or NZBN.

Closed Categories
You cannot submit a nomination for a Closed Category. 

Who can’t submit a nomination?

Directors, officers, management and employees (and their immediate families) of MYOB cannot submit a nomination for an Open Category.

Who can be nominated?

 

Eligibility Requirements 

A business or stakeholder can be nominated for a Category in accordance with any eligibility requirements set out in the Award Criteria.

A business or stakeholder also must be:

  1. a business registered in Australia or New Zealand with a valid ABN or NZBN; and
  2. must not have an account in arrears with MYOB. 

How to nominate

Open Categories

To nominate, you must complete and submit a nomination in the form stipulated by MYOB during the Nomination Period addressing the Awards Criteria.  

Multiple nominations are permitted. Separate nominations are required for each Category. 

You may include photos or documents in support of your submission. Any information you submit to us must be true and correct. 

Closed Categories

Nominations for Closed Categories are determined in accordance with the Award Criteria. Only members of MYOB Partners which meet eligibility requirements under the Awards Criteria and these Terms and Conditions may be invited provide supporting written submissions. See Awards Criteria for more information. 

Judging process MYOB

There will be 10 winners. There is only 1 winner per Category.

A judging panel appointed by MYOB will review each nomination for each Category. Each valid nomination will be judged individually on its merits by the judges in accordance with the Award Criteria for the relevant Category.

The judging panel may short list a number of finalists for each Category at its discretion. Finalists may be given the opportunity to submit additional material to MYOB in support of their nomination as directed by MYOB in its discretion.

This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the finalists or the winners.

The judging panel’s decision is final and binding.

Reserve Winner

The judging panel may decide to list reserve runner-up nominations (“Reserve Winner”) in case a winning nomination is deemed invalid or the prize is unclaimed.

Prize

There are 10 prizes available (1 prize per Category).

Each prize is a trip for 1 adult representative of the winner and 1 adult companion to Melbourne, Victoria to attend the 2024 MYOB Partner Awards ceremony, held on 14 November 2024 and includes:

  1. 2 x return economy airfares (including airfare taxes) from your nearest Australian or New Zealand major city to Melbourne. Note: flights are not included if you live in Victoria, Australia.
  2. 2 nights’ accommodation for one bedroom hotel room in a minimum 4+ star hotel in metropolitan Melbourne (as determined by MYOB).
    Note: MYOB is not required to book a separate room for a companion.
  3. 2 x tickets to attend the 2024 MYOB Partner Awards.

Any merchandise, photography and additional activities will be at the discretion of MYOB.

By accepting or participating in any prize, you and your companion accepts these Terms and Conditions.

Total Prize Pool

The total value of the prize pool is up to AUD $90,000.

Notification of the winners

Winners will be notified on 15/10/2024. Winners will be contacted by phone and email and their names published at: https://www.myob.com/myob-partner-program/partner-awards

Unclaimed prizes

Prize claim date: 22/10/2024

If the prize has not been claimed or if, after making all reasonable attempts, MYOB cannot contact the winner by the prize claim date above, the relevant nomination will be discarded. MYOB may re-award the prize to a Reserve Winner, who will be contacted by phone and email 24/10/2024 and their name published at: https://www.myob.com/myob-partner-program/partner-awards

MYOB may withdraw a prize if there are no eligible nominations to receive the prize in the relevant Category and that information will be published at: https://www.myob.com/myob-partner-program/partner-awards

 

Publicity and collection of personal information

By submitting a nomination, participating in the 2024 MYOB Partner Awards or accepting a prize, you consent to:

  1. receipt of any communication regarding the 2024 MYOB Partner Awards; and
  2. MYOB using your name, likeness, image or any material submitted to MYOB in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of advertising and marketing the Awards and MYOB’s products and services or MYOB more generally.

 

MYOB may collect personal information to conduct and manage this competition. MYOB may disclose personal information to its related entities, agents and contractors to conduct and manage this competition.

  1. These Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions incorporate the table above and any appendices. By submitting a nomination, participating in the 2024 MYOB Partner Awards or accepting a prize, you accept these Terms and Conditions. 

  1. Nominations
    1. Nominations must be received by MYOB during the Nomination Period. Late nominations will not be accepted. We are not liable for late, lost, incomplete or misdirected nominations or other communications.
    2. We may request further information to confirm the validity of your nomination and whether you meet the applicable eligibility requirements and category criteria.

  2. Intellectual Property
    1. Any nomination submitted must not be copied and must be an original work.
    2. We may copy, amend and use any material submitted to us. Our right to copy, amend or use any material are perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable and transferable. You must obtain a licence from any third parties for us to do so.
    3. You warrant that such materials do not breach any third-party intellectual property rights and the use by MYOB of such materials does not breach any law.

 

  1. Prize
    1. Prize values are correct as at the date of preparing these Terms and Conditions and include applicable GST.
    2. Prizes must be accepted as specified and cannot be altered or changed. A prize, or any unused portion of a prize, cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash or other prizes.
    3. If for any reason a winner does not accept a prize by the time stipulated by MYOB, the prize will be forfeited by the winner.
    4. There may be additional terms and conditions imposed by the relevant supplier of an element of the prize – for example, terms and conditions relating to airline tickets, accommodation etc. Prizes are subject to these additional terms and conditions.
    5. Each prize is subject to any applicable law or guidelines including in relation to a pandemic, any travel/government restrictions/directives, border closures, health advice and the like.

 

  1. General
    1. You must not:
      1. breach any law;
      2. behave in a manner that brings MYOB or the 2024 MYOB Partner Awards into disrepute;
      3. tamper with the nomination process or otherwise engage in conduct that could jeopardise that the proper and fair conduct of the 2024 MYOB Partner Awards;
      4. submit materials that contain any virus, malware or other malicious/harmful code;
      5. behave in a way that is disruptive, offensive, threatening or otherwise inappropriate.
    2. We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant who we have reason to believe has breached any of these Terms and Conditions.

 

  1. Liability

MYOB will not be liable (including without limitation, in negligence) for any loss or claim, action, demand, liability, cost, expense or personal injury whatsoever (including but not limited to any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss) incurred, suffered or sustained by any person or entity (without limitation) in connection with, or arising from, the submission of a nomination, the 2024 MYOB Partner Awards or the acceptance of a prize, except that which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the maximum extent allowable by law).

  1. Events beyond our reasonable control

If for any reason we are not able to conduct the Awards as planned due to tampering, fraud, technical difficulties or other causes beyond our reasonable control, we reserve the right to take any action that may be available, including varying the prizes or the these Terms and Conditions, or delaying the 2024 MYOB Partner Awards, without liability to you.

 

  1. Costs

You are responsible for any costs associated with you submitting a nomination, participating in the 2024 MYOB Partner Awards or accepting a prize, unless otherwise expressly stated in these Terms and Conditions. Any taxes payable as a consequence of accepting a prize are the responsibility of the winner.

Appendix A – Award Criteria

Accounting Practice of the Year - Australia

Eligibility

Open to all firms in the accounting industry in Australia who are members of the MYOB

Partner Program. 

Criteria

  • Outline how the firm is executing a growth strategy in the 2024 calendar year.
  • Describe how the firm supported the local community or the accounting industry and what impact this has had on the firm. 

At least one of the following:

  • 1+ staff members of the firm have completed MYOB Academy product certifications.
  • 1+ staff members of the firm have attended a MYOB Discover event at least once in 2024. 

The following are desirable:

  • Have referred MYOB to clients at least 5 times in 2024.
  • Have received an external industry achievement award.
  • Website or digital marketing that promotes MYOB.
  • Member of an accounting industry association.

Accounting Practice of the Year - New Zealand

Eligibility

Open to all firms in the accounting industry in New Zealand who are members of the MYOB Partner Program. 

Criteria

  • Outline how the firm is executing a growth strategy in the 2024 calendar year.
  • Describe how the firm supported the local community or the accounting industry and what impact this has had on the firm. 

At least one of the following:

  • 1+ staff members of the firm have completed MYOB Academy product certifications.
  • 1+ staff members of the firm have attended a MYOB Discover event at least once in 2024. 

The following are desirable:

  • Have referred MYOB to clients at least five times in 2024.
  • Have an external industry achievement award.
  • Website or digital marketing that promotes MYOB.
  • Member of an accounting industry association.

Bookkeeping Practice of the Year - Australia

Eligibility

Open to all firms in the bookkeeping industry in Australia who are members of the MYOB Partner Program. 

Criteria

  • Outline how the firm is executing a growth strategy in the 2024 calendar year.
  • Describe how the firm supported the local community or the bookkeeping industry and what impact this has had on the firm. 

At least one of the following:

  • 1+ staff members of the firm have completed MYOB Academy product certifications.
  • 1+ staff members of the firm have attended a MYOB Discover event at least once in 2024. 

The following are desirable:

  • Have referred MYOB to clients at least five times in 2024.
  • Have an external industry achievement award.
  • Website or digital marketing that promotes MYOB.
  • Member of an accounting or bookkeeping industry association.

Bookkeeping Practice of the Year - New Zealand

Eligibility

Open to all firms in the bookkeeping industry in New Zealand who are members of the MYOB Partner Program. 

Criteria

  • Outline how the practice is executing a growth strategy in the 2024 calendar year.
  • Describe how the practice supported the local community or the industry and what impact this has had on the practice. 

At least one of the following:

  • 1+ staff members of the firm have completed MYOB Academy product certifications.
  • 1+ staff members of the firm have attended a MYOB Discover event at least once in 2024.

The following are desirable:

  • Have referred MYOB to clients at least five times in 2024.
  • Have an external industry achievement award.
  • Website or digital marketing that promotes MYOB.
  • Member of an accounting or bookkeeping industry association.

Education Partner of the Year - Australia

Eligibility

Open to Australian Universities, TAFEs, tertiary education institutions, publishers, training companies and other student-focused organisations partnered with MYOB to help students succeed. These education partners have incorporated MYOB into applicable curricula and are authorised by MYOB to do so. 

Criteria

  • The education partner is teaching the online version of MYOB.
  • Provide an overview of programs that have assisted students with their education journey.
  • Demonstrate how students have benefited from the education partner’s partnership with MYOB.
  • Provide any further details of your partnership and engagement with MYOB, for example, use of MYOB resources, training/lectures/presentations, MYOB Academy, and working with MYOB team members.

Education Partner of the Year - New Zealand

Eligibility

Open to New Zealand Universities, Polytechnics, tertiary education institutions, publishers, training companies and other student-focused organisations partnered with MYOB to help students succeed. These education partners have incorporated MYOB into applicable curricula and are authorised by MYOB to do so.

 Criteria

  • The education partner is teaching the online version of MYOB.
  • Provide an overview of programs that have assisted students with their education journey.
  • Demonstrate how students have benefited from your partnership with MYOB.
  • Provide any further details of your partnership and engagement with MYOB, for example, use of MYOB resources, training/lectures/presentations, MYOB Academy, and working with MYOB staff.

Accounting Practice Award for Innovation & Impact Award

Eligibility

  • Open to all firms in the accounting industry in Australia or New Zealand who are members of the MYOB Partner Program. 

Criteria

At least one of the following:

  • Evidence of positive impact in the accounting industry via training, advocacy, mentorship, or similar programs.
  • Evidence of how technology has been used to improve operational processes and client service at your practice.
  • Evidence of digital marketing of your business which could also include the benefits of digitisation through using MYOB.

Bookkeeping Practice Award for Innovation & Impact Award

Eligibility

  • Open to all firms in the bookkeeping industry in Australia or New Zealand who are members of the MYOB Partner Program. 

Criteria

Please provide at least one of the following:

  • Evidence of positive impact in the bookkeeping industry via training, mentorship, or similar programs.
  • Evidence of how technology has been used to improve operational processes and client service at your practice.
  • Evidence of digital marketing of your business which could also include the benefits of digitisation through using MYOB.

MYOB Advocate of the Year – Australia

Eligibility

This award is assessed by MYOB and the panel of judges and nominations are not open. 

Criteria

  • This award is based on data analysis of all firms in the accounting and bookkeeping industry in Australia who are members of MYOB’s Partner Program. It recognises MYOB Partners based on yearly subscription referral growth for the period 01 Sep 2023 - 31 Aug 2024 vs 01 Sep 2022 - 31 Aug 2023. Referred subscriptions must be active and have increased by a minimum of 50 referrals during the specified time period.
  • MYOB Partners that meet this metric may be invited to submit further supporting submissions in a form stipulated by MYOB in accordance with the criteria below.

At least one of the following:

  • 1+ staff members of the firm have completed MYOB Academy product certifications.
  • 1+ staff members of the firm have attended a MYOB Discover event at least once in 2024.

The following are desirable:

  • Have an external industry achievement award.
  • Website or digital marketing that promotes MYOB.
  • Member of an accounting or bookkeeping industry association.
  • Demonstrates industry participation.

MYOB Advocate of the Year – New Zealand

Eligibility

This award is assessed by MYOB and the panel of judges and nominations are not open. 

Criteria

  • This award is based on data analysis of all firms in the accounting and bookkeeping industry in New Zealand who are members of MYOB’s Partner Program. It recognises partners based on yearly subscription referral growth for the period 01 Sep 2023 - 31 Aug 2024 vs 01 Sep 2022 - 31 Aug 2023. Referred subscriptions must be active and have increased by a minimum of 50 referrals during the specified time period.
  • MYOB Partners that meet this metric may be invited to submit further supporting submissions in a form stipulated by MYOB in accordance with the criteria below.
